With an increasingly complex philanthropic landscape, more and more philanthropists, foundations and funders are looking for guidance and expertise that can help them make the most impact in their chosen causes and communities. As a philanthropic advising firm, Building Impact Partners harnesses their first-hand experiences as practitioners to work with changemakers to build solutions with enduring impact. In autumn 2022, Building Impact Partners engaged Additive to refine its strategy, uplift its story and refresh its visual identity.
Key Deliverables
We began with a comprehensive review of Building Impact Partners’ communications, peers and key stakeholders. We learned that Building Impact Partners’ significant expertise in advising, advocacy and program innovation set it apart from many of its peers — giving them a thorough understanding of how investments in key areas translate to on-the-ground impact. By shifting Building Impact’s story from how it works to the transformational outcomes of their partnerships, together, we formed the basis of their strategy.
To bring the strategy to life, we developed active and energizing messaging that centered on transformational impact and philanthropy’s potential to build a more just and equitable world. To align with Building Impact Partners’ bold strategies and solutions, our visual identity incorporated vibrant yellows and blues as well as a host of bold but sophisticated supporting hues. Finally, by emphasizing the collaborative nature of their work, we recommended adding “Partners” to the organization’s name, reflecting the role they play in their communities and for their clients.
Building Impact Partners unveiled their updated name strategy, messaging and visual identity with the launch of a new website in June 2023. The Building Impact Partners team has continued to activate the messaging and visual identity across expressions and experiences — so that people, community and society can move forward.
“I couldn’t be more proud of our new site. It’s both exactly what we hoped for and better than we could have imagined! It has been a true pleasure working with the Additive team.”—Ashley Sandvi, Managing Director, Building Impact Partners
