Y of San Diego Featured in The New York Times for Embracing HOPE Framework

Our YMCA of San Diego County partners were featured in The New York Times, “Childhood Trauma Doesn’t Have to Be a Lifelong Curse.”

The article explores the Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences (HOPE) framework, an evidence-based approach designed to reduce the long-term effects of childhood trauma. HOPE promotes healing through supportive relationships, safe environments, opportunities for emotional growth and a strong sense of social belonging.

The Y of San Diego is embedding the HOPE framework across their programming and working alongside the welfare department, San Diego State University and Rady Children’s Hospital to expand HOPE’s impact across the region. Read the full article.
